A husband and wife from Long Island are facing more than half a dozen charges after fraudulently collecting $112,000 in public assistance, authorities said.
Levittown residents Terry Ann Powell-Bajwa, age 45, and Khurram Bajwa, age 40, were arraigned in Nassau County Court on Thursday, April 6.
According to prosecutors, between 2017 and 2021, Powell-Bajway allegedly lied on applications that she submitted to the Nassau County Department of Social Services (NCDSS) and the New York State Health Benefits Exchange (NYSHBE).

Bucks Man Swiped Tip Jar From Doylestown Business: Police
A Bucks County man faces several misdemeanor charges after police say he made off with the tip jar from an area business.
Authorities were called to EZ Laundry, 565 N. Main St. in Doylestown, early on Tuesday, March 21, for a report of theft, Central Bucks Regional police said in a statement.
There, staff showed them surveillance video of a man approaching the counter and removing the bills from the tip jar, investigators said. The man is then seen taking the whole jar, placing it under his jacket, and leaving, they continued.

Three women are facing charges after their alleged attempt to steal from a Long Island shopping mall was foiled by police, according to authorities.
Officers were called at around 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, with reports that two women had stolen merchandise from the Macy’s store in East Garden City, located in the Roosevelt Field mall, Nassau County Police said.

A central Pennsylvania woman who was ejected from her vehicle went missing for two hours before police located her, according to a release by police.
